I don’t make up stories because I want to be a writer,

I want to be a writer because I make up stories.

As a young boy, I was influenced by Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel Comics, and Doc Savage. I grew up with a love of storytelling. Movies, TV, comics, books, and theatre. Especially live Theatre. As a young man, I went to college to study Theatre Arts, where I became better acquainted, with Coward, Shaw, and Shakespeare. During an exercise for Directing class, we were tasked with writing and directing a scene.  My teachers and classmates were impressed with my writing and encouraged me to continue. During my years in college, I wrote several short plays and an adaptation of a Shakespeare classic. Following graduation, I worked for nine years in retail bookstore, surrounded by the likes of Donaldson, Brooks, Eddings, and King.  My love for writing and storytelling was reignited some years later when I found a small writers group. Since then, I have recommitted to writing and have begun working on three series and have many more in my mind fighting to see the light of day.

Line of the Week:

His science is a bit fictiony, but his characters are interesting.
